SUBJECT:
Consider motion to adopt RESOLUTION accepting a proposal from EOR Iowa, LLC, of Boone, Iowa, in the amount of $93,105.80 for the construction of the 2017 -  SE Prairie Trail Native Planting Project.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

The action before the council is the adoption of a resolution accepting a proposal from  EOR Iowa, LLC, for the 2017 - SE Prairie Trail Native Planting Project.  

The 2017 - SE Prairie Trail Native Planting Project includes seeding, mulching, planting, and maintenance of native landscapes covering several stormwater treatment areas in the southeastern portion of Prairie Trail. 

 

Bid invitations were sent to five (5) contractors.  Two (2) bids were received for the project as follows:

1 . EOR Iowa, LLC                      $93,105.80
2 . Applied Ecological Services   $99,621.40

The Engineer's estimate for the project was $121,920.00. The two bids received ranged from approximately 18% to 24% below the engineer's estimate.  EOR Iowa, LLC. has completed projects for the City of Ankeny in the past, and they have the technical experience to complete this project.  The Public Works Department recommends awarding the 2017 - SE Prairie Trail Native Planting Project be awarded to EOR Iowa, LLC.
FISCAL IMPACT: No
The 2017 - SE Prairie Trail Native Planting Project is included in the current CIP for construction in 2017.
CITY MANAGER'S RECOMMENDATIONS:
Approve the motion to adopt RESOLUTION accepting a proposal from EOR Iowa, LLC for the 2017 - SE Prairie Trail Native Planting Project.
