The City of Ankeny previously entered into an agreement that established the Fourmile Creek Watershed Management Authority. The stakeholders in the plan included Ankeny, eight other cities and three counties that have property within the Fourmile Creek Watershed.
The Fourmile Creek Watershed Management Authority completed a comprehensive management plan that established a vision for engaging residents working across political boundaries to create and sustain a healthy watershed for the Fourmile basin.
The action before the council is the official approval of the Fourmile Creek Watershed Management Plan, to facilitate future possible improvements to address flood mitigation, water quality, natural resource protection, and recreation.
