The Iowa Department of Transportation is on schedule to complete the reconstruction of the East First Street / I-35 interchange in 2018 - 2020. The DOT is acquiring the various parcels of property needed to complete this project at this time. Five of these parcels are property that is owned by the City of Ankeny.
One parcel, Parcel 43, is the subject of this proposed public hearing. This parcel consists of 1.38 acres located on the east side of Interstate 35, and is a portion of the old abandoned sewer lift station site on SE Creekview Drive.
Staff recommends that the said Parcel 43 be conveyed to the Iowa DOT to facilitate the project. Staff further recommends that the payment for this parcel be as a credit to the payments that the City will make to the DOT for the overall project costs. |
