The action before the Council is the adoption of a resolution regarding the West 1st Street Sidewalk Upgrade - Phase 2 project which involves ordering construction, setting a public hearing date on the Contract Documents (plans, specifications, form of contract) and estimated total cost and setting a date for the filing of bids on the project.
The West 1st Street Sidewalk Upgrade - Phase 2 project includes the removal of the existing sidewalk and the installation of 8' wide PCC sidewalk along West 1st Street from 600' west of NW Linden Street to just west of NW College Avenue. Other associated improvements include ADA compliant pedestrian ramps, traffic control, surface restoration, driveway replacement and miscellaneous associated work necessary to complete the project.
The project is being presented for bidding at this time. Pending project approval and award, the contractor will be required to start the project no later than July 10, 2017. The contractor will have twenty-five (25) working days to substantially complete the project. Council approval at this time will set the following schedule for the proceedings:
1. Set Date of Bid Opening and Public Hearing: May 1, 2017
2. Post Notice to Bidders and Notice of Public Hearing: May 5, 2017
3. Publish Notice to Bidders and Notice of Public of Hearing: May 19, 2017
4. Bid Opening (10:30 A.M., City Hall): May 31, 2017
5. Public Hearing and Award Contract: June 5, 2017
