The action before the Council is the adoption of a Resolution accepting a proposal from RW Excavating Solutions for the 2017 - Chautauqua Park Lake Recreational Trail Project.
The 2017 - Chautauqua Park Lake Recreational Trail project includes the installation of abutments and a pedestrian bridge. The construction area is located south of SW Prairie Trail Parkway across a tributary of Saylor Creek in the Prairie Trail development.
Bid invitations were sent to twenty (20) contractors. Two (2) bids were received for the project as follows:
RW Excavating Solutions $ 37,470.00
Jensen Construction Company $129,556.00
The Engineer’s estimated cost for the project was $37,990.00. The bids ranged from 1.4% below to 341.0% above the engineer's estimate. RW Excavating Solutions has completed projects for the City of Ankeny in the past, and they have the technical experience to complete this project. The Public Works Department recommends awarding the 2017 - SW Ankeny Road Drainage Repair project to RW Excavating Solutions of Prairie City, Iowa. |
