Solicitor License Appeal Hearing - Briane Colwill
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
An application for a solicitors license was received from Briane Colwill on May 3, 2017, for the purpose of soliciting for Monarch's Lawn Care.  In accordance with Municipal Code  132.04, a criminal background check was provided with the application.  The application and background check were forwarded to the Police Department to conduct an investigation. Based on the review by the Police Department and in accordance with Municipal Code 132.04 (2B.), the applicant did not meet the requirements to qualify for the solicitors permit, and the license was denied.  The City Clerk's office provided written notification to the applicant of the denial.  Pursuant to Municipal Code Section 132.16, the applicant has the right to a hearing before the council, which council may reverse, modify or affirm the decision of the City Clerk by majority vote.   The applicant filed his request for an appeal hearing on June 1, 2017.
