The action before the Council is the adoption of a resolution regarding the proposed Fire Station No. 3 project, which involves ordering construction, setting a public hearing date on the Contract Documents (plans, specifications, form of contract) and estimated total cost and setting a date for the filing of bids on the project.
As council is aware, Fire Station No. 3 is proposed to be constructed at the intersection of NE 36th Street and NE Otter Creek Drive. SVPA Architects has completed the project design at this time, and the project is ready to proceed to the bidding phase and subsequent construction.
Pending project approval and award, the contractor will be required to start the project in early August of 2017 and will need to have the station completed by September 1, 2018.
Council approval at this time will set the following schedule for the proceedings:
1. Set Date of Bid Opening and Public Hearing: June 19, 2017
2. Post Notice to Bidders and Notice of Public Hearing: June 23, 2017
3. Publish Notice to Bidders and Notice of Public of Hearing: June 30, 2017
4. Bid Opening (10:30 A.M., City Hall): July 11, 2017
5. Public Hearing and Award Contract: July 17, 2017
