SVPA is completing the building design for Fire Station No. 3.  Recently during this process, it was discovered that there is a new requirement for including a "safe room" within the station.  Even though this requirement does not become binding until after July 1, 2017, it is recommended that the safe room be included in the project.  Specifically, one bathroom within the station will  be constructed with storm-proof fortified concrete walls and other measures.  The extra design services needed for the safe room amount to an increase of $5,900.00 to the original contract amount.  Staff recommends approval of this amendment.
