The action before the Council is the adoption of a resolution regarding the SW Des Moines Street Sanitary Sewer - Phase 1 project which involves ordering construction, setting a public hearing date on the Contract Documents (plans, specifications, form of contract) estimated total cost and setting a date for the filing of bids on the project.
The SW Des Moines Street Sanitary Sewer - Phase 1 project includes the installation of sanitary sewer generally located on SW Des Moines Street from 300 feet north of SW Prairie Trail Parkway to SW Magazine Road, in the City of Ankeny.
The construction improvements include approximately 1,626 LF of 10-inch truss sanitary sewer, and 10 sanitary manholes. Other associated improvements include erosion control, top soil, seeding and miscellaneous associated work necessary to complete the project.
The project is being presented for bidding at this time. Pending project approval and award, the contractor will be required to complete the project within 45 working days. Council approval at this time will set the following schedule for the proceedings:
1. Set Date of Bid Opening and Public Hearing: July 3, 2017
2. Post Notice to Bidders and Notice of Public Hearing: July 7, 2017
3. Publish Notice to Bidders and Notice of Public of Hearing: July 21, 2017
4. Bid Opening (10:30 A.M., City Hall): August 1, 2017
5. Public Hearing and Award Contract: August 7, 2017
