The action before the City Council is the approval of a Professional Services Agreement with Snyder & Associates, Inc., for the design engineering and bidding phase services needed for the Ash Tower Feeder Main project.
The purpose of this project is to provide a 24" diameter water main to supply Ash Tower and to begin a large diameter transmission framework for the City's water system.
The design of the project needs to be undertaken at this time so that the project schedule can be maintained and appropriate permitting agencies can have adequate time to review the project and issue any required permits. The Municipal Utilities Department proposes to use Snyder & Associates, Inc., to complete the necessary design and bidding phase services for the project, as they have substantial background knowledge of this area of the city and permitting agencies on these types of projects. The scope of the design engineering services and corresponding fees for the services are shown in the attached Professional Services Agreement. The total fee for the design engineering services is $176,300.00.
