Consider motion to adopt RESOLUTION authorizing the Mayor to sign a grant application to be submitted to the Iowa State Resource Enhancement and Protection Program for Ankeny NE Delaware Avenue Trail Connection Project.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
Staff recommends that the city submit an application for Iowa State REAP Program funding for the NE Delaware Avenue Trail Connection Project. The project includes construction of a pedestrian bridge on the west side of NE Delaware Avenue over Four Mile Creek and 8-ft trail connections north and south of the bridge. The pedestrian bridge and trail connections were identified as recommended improvements in the 2009 Safe Routes to School Study. A federal TAP grant in the amount of $150,000 has been secured and will be used to help finance the construction scheduled in the Capital Improvement Program for 2018.

CITY MANAGER'S RECOMMENDATIONS:
Both the city manager and staff recommend approval of this resolution authorizing the City of Ankeny to submit an application for REAP funding and further approving the application which obligates the City of Ankeny to matching funds for the construction of said project.
