SUBJECT:
Consider motion to adopt RESOLUTION granting a permanent overhead electric easement to MidAmerican Energy Company for the extension of electrical transmission lines across the SE Treatment Plant property.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The action before the council is the adoption of a resolution granting a permanent 10' overhead electric easement for MidAmerican Energy to facilitate the construction of a new overhead electric transmission line along SE Creekview Drive.
Currently, the existing overhead electric power line is to only provide service to the SE Treatment Plant and is therefore considered a service line. MidAmerican Energy has agreed to move this transmission main at their cost in the event that this transmission main is in the alignment of any future development of this property. Due to this agreement the City has elected not to charge MidAmerican Energy for this requested easement.
This transmission line will need to be installed in a 10' wide overhead electric easement adjacent to possible future right-of-way of SE Creekview Drive across the existing SE Treatment Plant property to the southern property line.
It is recommended that this easement be granted at this time.
