The action before the Council is the adoption of a Resolution accepting a proposal from Dave's Dozing for the 2017 - Tradition Trail Repair Project.
The 2017 - Tradition Trail Repair project was added to the CIP's Annual Stormwater Replacement Program earlier this year. The project includes installing a storm sewer intake and repairing an eroded bank along Saylor Creek. The construction area is located south of SW Tradition Drive and north of Saylor Creek in southwest Ankeny.
Bid invitations were sent to three (3) contractors. One (1) bid was received for the project as follows:
Dave's Dozing $ 59,820.01
The Engineer’s estimated cost for the project was $47,855.00, and the bid was approximately 25% above the Engineer's estimate. Dave's Dozing has completed projects for the City of Ankeny in the past, and they have the technical experience to complete this project. The Public Works Department recommends awarding the 2017 - Tradition Trail Repair Project to Dave's Dozing of Mitchellville, Iowa. |
