The primary reason for the proposed changes is due to the potential traffic safety hazard caused by vehicles parked along the side streets near the intersections identified above. This can create a hazardous situation for vehicles entering and exiting these residential neighborhoods onto the adjacent collector streets, because they are forced to cross the double yellow centerline into oncoming traffic.
To remedy this situation, it is recommended that "No Parking" zones be designated at the locations mentioned above. The Public Works Department mailed letters to the affected residents informing them that, pending City Council authorization, the proposed "No Parking" zones would take effect. No responses have been received objecting to the proposed change. |
