The action before the City Council is the approval of a Professional Services Agreement with MSA Professional Services, Inc., for the design and bidding phase services needed for the 2018 - SW 3rd Street Water Main Improvements project.
The scope of the project includes the design of water main improvements from Maple Street to Scott Street, along SW 3rd Street, approximately 500 feet in length. This is part of the Ankeny Uptown Revitalization.
The design for the project needs to be undertaken at this time so the project schedule can be maintained. The Municipal Utilities Department proposes to use MSA Professional Services, Inc., to complete the necessary design and bidding phase services for the project. The scope of the engineering services and corresponding fees for the services are shown in the attached Engineering Services Agreement. The total fee for the engineering services is $36,500.00.
