An Ordinance amending Chapter 69, Parking Regulations, of the Municipal Code of the City of Ankeny, Iowa, by amending Section 69.10, No Parking on North and East Sides of Streets

 
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

The primary reason for the proposed changes are due to the potential traffic safety hazard caused by vehicles parked within the listed street sections.  This can create a hazardous situation for vehicles entering and exiting at the respective intersections, because they would be forced to cross the double yellow centerline into oncoming traffic.  To remedy this situation, it is recommended that "No Parking" zones be designated at the locations mentioned above.
FISCAL IMPACT: No
The only expense will be for the sign installation, which will be completed in-house.
CITY MANAGER'S RECOMMENDATIONS:
To accept first consideration of Ordinance 2019 to amend Chapter 69, Parking Regulations, of the Municipal Code.
