SUBJECT:
Consider motion to authorize a temporary adjustment to the FY21 Authorized Staffing Plan to allow for one additional FTE Sergeant in the Police Department.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The Police Department has a sergeant that has been ordered to active duty for a period of one year. The City Manager is requesting the temporary authority to promote an officer to the Sergeant position that will be vacant due to the military leave. When the sergeant returns from military leave the temporary sergeant will move back to an officer position.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No
There is no fiscal impact as the sergeant who is going on military leave will not be paid from the City.
CITY MANAGER'S RECOMMENDATIONS:
Authorize the temporary adjustment to the FY21 Authorized Staffing Plan to allow one additional FTE Sergeant in the Police Department.
