Professional Services Agreement with Snyder & Associates, Inc., for Final Design and Construction Specifications

The action before the council is the approval of a professional services agreement with Snyder & Associates for the structural design and development of construction documents to facilitate the bidding and construction of the two large city welcome signs that are proposed for installation along Interstate 35. 

Now that the style and design of the signs has been completed through the efforts of Lee Breitkreutz, it time to commence the structural design and detailing of the two signs.  This will allow for a late spring bid on the signs, with construction of the signs to follow this summer.  The structural engineers from Snyder will work with Lee to complete the design features.  Elements of the design will include electrical design, site layout, structural design for the signs and foundations, technical specs, updated cost opinion, and bidding services. 

Snyder & Associates proposes to complete the necessary design work and bidding services for a maximum fee of $26,000.00.

Approve the professional services agreement with Snyder & Associates, Inc., for the final design and construction specifications of the City Welcome Signs for an amount not to exceed $26,000.00 and authorize the Mayor to execute said Agreement.
