SUBJECT:

SW Prairie Trail Parkway - East Extension - Consider motion to approve:  a) Final Change Order #7 decreasing the contract amount by $104,174.23; b) Certificate of Completion; c) RESOLUTION accepting the public improvements with Vanderpool Construction, Inc. in the amount of $2,286,787.50; and d) Final Payment #8 in the amount of $107,038.91 / Release of Retainage in the amount of $114,339.38.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The actions before the Council are the approval of the final Change Order, the acceptance of the Certificate of Completion, passage of a Resolution accepting the public improvements and approval of the final and retainage payments to Vanderpool Construction, Inc. for the SW Prairie Trail Parkway - East Extension project.
FISCAL IMPACT: No

The above payment will facilitate the final completion of this project which was funded through the Capital Improvements Program.

CITY MANAGER'S RECOMMENDATIONS:

It is recommended that the Council take the following actions:

 

1. Approve final Change Order #7 decreasing the contract amount by $104,174.23.

 

2. Accept the Certificate of Completion from the project engineer for the SW Prairie Trail Parkway - East Extension project.

 

3. Adopt the Resolution accepting the SW Prairie Trail Parkway - East Extension project with Vanderpool Construction, Inc. in the final contract amount of $2,286,787.50.

 

4. Authorize final payment to Vanderpool Construction, Inc. in the amount of $107,038.91 and release of retainage payment in the amount of $114,339.38 in accordance with the terms of the contract.

PREVIOUS COUNCIL/COMMISSION/BOARD ACTION(S):

December 19, 2016:  The council ordered construction and set dates for bidding and public hearing.

January 16, 2017:  The council held the public hearing; adopted plans, specifications, form of contract and estimate of cost; awarded the construction contract and approved the construction contract and bonds.
