The action before the City Council is the adoption of a Resolution approving and authorizing the acquisition of property and property interests for the SE Creekview Drive Utility Improvements project. The City is undertaking the design of the project at this time. The project will upgrade the existing 8" water main to a proposed 12" water main along the west side of the street, which will eliminate the water hammer issue occurring at the concrete plants along SE Creekview Drive. In addition, the project will replace the existing deteriorating metal pipe culverts with proposed concrete pipe culverts under SE Creekview Drive as the channels and tributaries drain towards Fourmile Creek. The outlets of the pipe culverts will be stabilized with riprap in order to dissipate energy. The utility improvements are scheduled to be constructed in 2018, in advance of the proposed asphalt surfacing project scheduled to be constructed in 2019, as outlined in the current Capital Improvement Program (CIP).
Permanent storm sewer and drainage easements will need to be acquired for the construction of the public improvement. In order to preserve the construction schedule, the property acquisition process needs to begin at this time. |
