The action before the Council is the adoption of a resolution regarding the Ankeny Boulevard and First Street Intersection Improvements project which involves ordering construction, setting a public hearing date on the Contract Documents (plans, specifications, form of contract), and estimated total cost and setting a date for the filing of bids on the project.
The Ankeny Boulevard and First Street Intersection Improvements project includes PCC paving, full depth patching and traffic signal replacement located at the intersection of Ankeny Boulevard (U.S. Highway 69) and First Street in the City of Ankeny.
The construction improvements include approximately 1,400 SY of 9” PCC pavement, 600 SY of standard and colored PCC sidewalks, 400 SY of standard and colored PCC medians, 200 SY of full depth patches, 1,000 LF of 3” HDPE irrigation sleeves installed by trenchless methods and new traffic signals. Other associated improvements include traffic control, temporary stabilization, pavement markings, storm sewer and miscellaneous associated work necessary to complete the project. |
