The action before the City Council is the approval of a Professional Services Agreement with Nilles Associates, Inc., for the preliminary design, final design and bidding phase services needed for the SW Plaza Parkway and SW College Avenue Extension project. The scope of the project includes the extension of SW College Avenue from SW Oralabor Road to a projected intersection with SW Plaza Parkway and the extension of SW Plaza Parkway from this projected intersection to its current east and west termini. This project includes associated paving and utility improvements and improvements on SW Oralabor Road at the new intersection.
The design of the project needs to be undertaken at this time so the project schedule can be maintained. The Public Works Department proposes to use Nilles Associates, Inc., to complete the necessary preliminary design, final design and bidding phase services for the project because they have extensive experience within Prairie Trail. The scope of the design engineering services and corresponding fees for the services are shown in the attached Professional Services Agreement. The total fee for the design engineering services is $156,500.00. |
