The action before the Council is the adoption of a Resolution accepting a proposal from Dave's Dozing for the 2018 - North Prairie Bend Basin Repair Project.

The 2018 - North Prairie Bend Basin Repair Project is included in the Annual Stormwater Replacement Program.  The project includes clearing, grubbing, grading, and repairing a failed bank between the basin and Fourmile Creek.  The construction area is located east of NE Rio Drive and north of NE 47th Street, along Fourmile Creek.   

Bid invitations were sent to eleven (11) contractors. Two (2) bids were received for the project as follows:

Dave's Dozing                         $ 37,382.50

RW Excavating Solutions        $43,475.00

The Engineer’s estimated cost for the project was $38,707.50, and the bids were approximately 3% below to 12% above the Engineer's estimate. Dave's Dozing has completed projects for the City of Ankeny in the past, and they have the technical experience to complete this project. The Public Works Department recommends awarding the 2018 - North Prairie Bend Basin Repair Project to Dave's Dozing of Mitchellville, Iowa.
