SUBJECT:
Consider motion to approve the award of the nuisance and rough cut mowing agreement to AAA Lawn Services, LLC of Ankeny, Iowa, and authorize the Mayor to sign the Letter of Agreement.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

On March 9, 2018, the City of Ankeny Finance Department issued a request for bid for a 3-year nuisance and rough cut mowing services agreement.  Fourteen vendors received bid packets, with two vendors responding to the request:

The lowest per acre rate was submitted by AAA Lawn Services, LLC of Ankeny, Iowa.
FISCAL IMPACT: Yes

The Nuisance and Rough Cut Mowing Services agreement will be for three years, with a contract start date being on or about April 17, 2018. There is the option to extend the agreement for up to three additional one-year time periods.

 

The new rate per acre mowed will be $48.00 per acre; the previous rate was $50.00 per acre. The city expects savings of $600 per year for the first three years of the agreement.
