The proposed Amendment No. 9 to the 1989 Ankeny Economic Development Urban Renewal Plan, which was last amended earlier in 2018, includes the following updates:
- Addition of mostly undeveloped property
These updates are necessary for the following reasons:
- Most of the property being added is undeveloped commercial and industrial property. This area had recently been included in an urban renewal area, but had not developed and was removed from the urban renewal area. Adding the property to an urban renewal area at this time lines up better with when development is expected to occur in the proposed area.
