The action before the Council is the adoption of a resolution regarding the SW Plaza Parkway and SW College Avenue Extension project which involves ordering construction, setting a public hearing date on the Contract Documents (plans, specifications, form of contract) and estimated total cost and setting a date for the filing of bids on the project.
The SW Plaza Parkway and SW College Avenue Extension project consists of the construction of SW Plaza Parkway from just west of SW 23rd Street to just east of SW Cascade Falls Drive, SW College Avenue from SW Oralabor Road to SW Plaza Parkway and turn lanes on SW Oralabor Road at SW College Avenue.
The construction improvements include approximately 8,500 SY of 8” PCC and 1,000 SY of 9” PCC street pavement, 1,550 LF of water main, 1,500 LF of storm sewer, Class 10 excavation, subgrade preparation and removal of pavement. Other associated improvements include traffic control, erosion control, surface restoration and miscellaneous associated work necessary to complete the project.
The project is being presented for bidding at this time. Pending project approval and award by the City Council, the contractor will be required to start the project no later than June 18, 2018. They will have 20 working days to complete work impacting traffic along SW Oralabor Road and 85 working days to fully complete the overall project. Council approval at this time will set the following schedule for the proceedings:
1. Set Date of Bid Opening and Public Hearing: April 16, 2018
2. Post Notice to Bidders and Notice of Public Hearing: April 20, 2018
3. Publish Notice to Bidders and Notice of Public of Hearing: May 4, 2018
4. Bid Opening (10:30 A.M., City Hall): May 15, 2018
5. Public Hearing and Award Contract: May 21, 2018
