SUBJECT:
Consider motion to adopt RESOLUTION accepting a proposal from Van Maanen Electric, Inc., in the amount of $72,681.00 for the construction of the 2018 Prairie Ridge Softball Field Lighting Project.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

The action before the council is the adoption of a resolution accepting a proposal from Van Maanen Electric, Inc., for the 2018 Prairie Ridge Softball Field Lighting Project. This project will provide full illumination of softball fields #45 and #46.

 

The project includes installing seven lighting poles, footings, light fixtures, conduit, wiring, components and associated improvements including the connection to an existing electrical source and surface restoration.

 

Bid invitations were sent to six contractors that can complete this type of work. Two bids were received for the project as follows:

 

1. Baker Electric, Inc.               $77,837.00

2. Van Maanen Electric, Inc.    $72,681.00 

 

Engineer's Estimate: $75,000

 

Van Maanen Electric, Inc., performed the construction services for the second phase of the Prairie Ridge Soccer Field Lighting Project in 2015. Department Staff recommends that the project be awarded to Van Maanen Electric, Inc.

 

 
FISCAL IMPACT: Yes
This project is included in the current CIP for construction this year.
