Proposed N Ankeny Blvd & NW-NE Georgetown Blvd Intersection Improvements & Signalization Project

Public Hearing to Authorize the Acquisition of Property and Property Interests
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The action before the Council is to hold a Public Hearing to allow affected property owners the opportunity to present their views regarding the proposed acquisition of property and property interests for the N Ankeny Blvd & NW-NE Georgetown Blvd Intersection Improvements & Signalization project. Further action includes consideration  of a Resolution approving the commencement of the public improvement including negotiations to facilitate the acquisition of fee title, permanent easements and temporary easements for the project.

CITY MANAGER'S RECOMMENDATIONS:
Approve Resolution authorizing the acquisition of property and property interests for the N Ankeny Blvd & NW-NE Georgetown Blvd Intersection Improvements & Signalization project.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL/COMMISSION/BOARD ACTION(S):
December 3, 2018: Council authorized setting the date for the Public Hearing as January 7, 2019.
PUBLIC OUTREACH EFFORTS:

Notice of Intent to Commence a Public Improvement Project was mailed to affected property owners as required by the Iowa Code, along with legal publication in the Des Moines Register on December 21, 2018.  A project information meeting was held for affected property owners on December 11, 2018.

Action: Consider motion to close Public Hearing 2019-01.
