The action before the City Council is the approval of a Professional Services Agreement with Kirkham, Michael & Associates, Inc., for the design and bidding phase services needed for the Westwinds Channel Flood Repair Project.
The scope of the project includes the design for the construction of flood repairs to three specific areas in the Westwinds Channel. These improvements will repair the areas damaged by the extreme flash flooding event that occurred on June 30, 2018.
The design for the project needs to be undertaken at this time so that the project schedule can be maintained. The Public Works Department proposes to use Kirkham, Michael & Associates, Inc., to complete the necessary design and bidding phase services for the project because they previously completed the conceptual design of the repairs and have the technical experience needed for this project. The scope of the engineering services and corresponding fees for the services are shown in the attached Professional Services Agreement. The total fee for the engineering services is $39,915.00.
