The action before the City Council is the approval of a Professional Services Agreement with Snyder & Associates, Inc., for the design and bidding phase services needed for the Irvinedale Drive Transmission Main - Phase 2 Project.
The purpose of this project is to increase conveyance from the SW Water Tower north into our system. This is the second of three phases that will eventually connect to the NW Booster Station that will supply water to all of the northwest portion of the City. The completion of this phase will improve the performance and operation of the overall water storage and distribution system.
The scope of the project includes the design of approximately 7,400 feet of 24" water main from the SW Water Tower north to just north of W. 1st Street along SW Irvinedale Drive, connecting into the existing 24" water main that was installed last year with the NW 5th Street and NW Irvinedale Improvements Project.
The design for the project needs to be undertaken at this time so that the project schedule can be maintained. The Municipal Utilities Department proposes to use Snyder & Associates, Inc., to complete the necessary design and bidding phase services for the project because they previously completed the Ash Tower Feeder Main Project and have the technical experience needed for this project. The scope of the engineering services and corresponding fees for the services are shown in the attached Professional Services Agreement. The total fee for the engineering services is $227,900.00.
It is recommended that the City Council approve the Professional Services Agreement with Snyder & Associates, Inc. |
