The action before the Council is the adoption of a resolution regarding the SW Irvinedale Drive Transmission Main - Phase 1 project which involves ordering construction, setting a public hearing date on the Contract Documents (plans, specifications, form of contract) estimated total cost and setting a date for the filing of bids on the project.
The SW Irvinedale Drive Transmission Main - Phase 1 project includes the installation of a 24-inch diameter feeder main generally located along the north side Oralabor Road from SW Edgewood Lane to SW Irvinedale Drive, and along the east side of SW Irvinedale Drive from Oralabor Road to the SW Water Tower.
The construction improvements consists of approximately 6,600 lineal feet of 24-inch diameter water main installation. Approximately 6100 lineal feet of main will be installed using conventional trench installation and the remainder will be installed using horizontal directional drilling. Minor drainage and site improvements will occur through the ditch corridor. Other associated work to occur on site are traffic control, erosion control, seeding, and other miscellaneous work to complete the project.
The project is being presented for bidding at this time. Pending project approval and award, the contractor will be required to complete the project within 80 working days. Council approval at this time will set the following schedule for the proceedings:
1. Set Date of Bid Opening and Public Hearing: February 18, 2019
2. Post Notice to Bidders and Notice of Public Hearing: February 22, 2019
3. Publish Notice to Bidders and Notice of Public of Hearing: March 1, 2019
4. Bid Opening (10:30 A.M., City Hall): March 12, 2019
5. Public Hearing and Award Contract: March 18, 2019
