The proposed Amendment No. 10 to the 1989 Ankeny Economic Development Urban Renewal Plan, which was last amended in 2018, includes the following updates:
- Addition of undeveloped property
- Addition of SW Des Moines Street from SW Magazine Road to SW 11th Street project
These updates are necessary for the following reasons:
- The property being added is undeveloped commercial and industrial property and includes a parcel that was recently annexed into the City. The area is experiencing significant investment.
- The SW Des Moines Street project was advanced in the CIP and was not previously included in the urban renewal plan amendment completed in 2018.
