The action before the Council is the adoption of a resolution regarding the SE Creekview Drive Roadway Improvements project which involves ordering construction, setting a public hearing date on the Contract Documents (plans, specifications, form of contract), and estimated total cost and setting a date for the filing of bids on the project.
The SE Creekview Drive Roadway Improvements project is located on SE Creekview Drive, south of East First Street and east of Interstate 35 in the City of Ankeny, Iowa. The scope of the project is to construct approximately 4000 LF of roadway grading, granular shoulder, and HMA paving.
The improvements include approximately 1275 CY of topsoil importation, 1575 CY of Class 10 excavation, 1325 tons of granular surfacing, 1075 tons of granular shoulder, 4800 tons of HMA paving, granular and PCC driveway improvements, 65 STA of pavement markings, temporary traffic control, erosion control, surface restoration, and miscellaneous associated work necessary to complete the project.
The project is being presented for bidding at this time. Pending project approval and award, the contractor will be required to start the project no earlier than June 10, 2019 and no later than July 22, 2019. The contractor will have forty (40) working days to fully complete the overall project. Council approval at this time will set the following schedule for the proceedings:
1. Set Date of Bid Opening and Public Hearing: March 4, 2019
2. Post Notice to Bidders and Notice of Public Hearing: March 8, 2019
3. Publish Notice to Bidders and Notice of Public of Hearing: March 15, 2019
4. Bid Opening (10:30 A.M., City Hall): March 26, 2019
5. Public Hearing and Award Contract: April 1, 2019
