The action before the council is the adoption of a resolution accepting a proposal from Absolute Concrete for the 2019 Otter Creek Golf Course Patio project.
The patio project consists of the construction of approximately 2,300 square feet of colored concrete adjacent to the west side of the Otter Creek Clubhouse and will include the excavation, removal and disposal of existing concrete in the project area. Contractor shall grade, form and shape the areas as needed for proper drainage, prepare the subgrade, install new concrete and construct approximately 56 linear feet of seating wall, mobilization and miscellaneous work necessary to complete the project.
Bid invitations were sent to seventeen (17) contractors that can complete this type of work. Two (2) bids were received for the project as follows:
- Absolute Concrete: $51,941.00
- Concrete Connection LLC: $55,550.00
Engineer's Estimate: $50,000.00
In recent years, the City of Ankeny has used Absolute Concrete to perform construction services and their work has been good and was completed in a timely manner. Parks & Recreation staff recommends that the project be awarded to Absolute Concrete.
