Solicitor License Appeal Hearing - Steven J. Barnes
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
An application for a solicitors license was received from Steven J. Barnes on March 4, 2019, for the purpose of soliciting on behalf of A New Look.  In accordance with Municipal Code  132.04, a criminal background check was provided with the application.  The application and background check were forwarded to the Police Department to conduct an investigation.  Based on the review of the Police Department and in accordance with Municipal Code 132.04 (2.B.4.), the applicant did not meet the requirements to qualify for the solicitors permit and the license was denied.  The City Clerk's office provided written notification to the applicant of the denial.  Applicant has the right to a hearing before the council, which council may reverse, modify or affirm the decision of the City Clerk by majority vote.   The applicant filed his request for an appeal hearing on March 28, 2019.
