The action before the Council is the adoption of a resolution regarding the Tradition Park Stormwater Detention Basin Flood Repair project which involves ordering construction, setting a public hearing date on the Contract Documents (plans, specifications, form of contract), and estimated total cost and setting a date for the filing of bids on the project.
The Tradition Park Stormwater Detention Basin Flood Repair project includes improvements to address flood damage, channel erosion, and associated impacts from the Reinforced Concrete Box (RCB) culvert under SW Tradition Drive to approximately 230 feet south.
The construction improvements for the project include excavation, cast-in-place RCB culvert with headwall and energy dissipator walls, rip rap, sidewalk, and native seeding. Other associated improvements include traffic control, erosion control, subdrain, establishing a construction entrance, clearing and grubbing within the grading limits, surface restoration, and miscellaneous associated work.
The project is being presented for bidding at this time. Pending project approval and award, the contractor will be required to start the project by no later than May 4, 2020, and they will have 70 working days to fully complete the project. Council approval at this time will set the following schedule for the proceedings:
1. Set Date of Bid Opening and Public Hearing: July 1, 2019
2. Post Notice to Bidders and Notice of Public Hearing: July 5, 2019
3. Publish Notice to Bidders and Notice of Public of Hearing: July 19, 2019
4. Bid Opening (10:30 A.M., City Hall): July 30, 2019
5. Public Hearing and Award Contract: August 5, 2019
