SUBJECT:

Consider motion to authorize the Mayor to execute an amendment to the Iowa Department of Transportation RISE grant agreement for the Crosswinds Business Park roadway project.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The City Council approved a RISE grant agreement with the Iowa DOT for extension of roads and infrastructure in the Crosswinds Business Park on April 1, 2019. As a result of a traffic study completed on behalf of Kreg Tool and Northern Tool & Equipment, the scope of the overall project has expanded to include one turn lane at SE Corporate Woods Drive and Four Mile Drive and one turn lane on SE 90th Street (both shown on the attached map).  This amendment adds these two additional turn lanes to the scope of the project, making them RISE eligible improvements.  The addition of these turn lanes will make them eligible expenses for reimbursement by the DOT.
FISCAL IMPACT: No

Project costs are 100% covered by the RISE grant and reimbursement agreements with property owners.

PREVIOUS COUNCIL/COMMISSION/BOARD ACTION(S):
The City Council approved a resolution supporting the RISE application for this project at their December 17, 2018 meeting and approved the RISE grant agreement between the DOT and the City at their April 1, 2019 meeting.
