SUBJECT:
Subscriber 28E Agreement - Polk County and Subscriber Public Safety Agencies
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office manages the Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP)/911 Emergency Dispatch Communications Center, with Ankeny Police and Fire being subscribing agencies. An existing 28E expires in 2024. This proposed agreement would extend the 28E through June 30, 2030, provide for the purchase of new mobile and portable radios for public safety employees, and codifies enhanced coverage and safety upgrades. It also establishes cost participation starting in fiscal year 2025.

FISCAL IMPACT: Yes

None immediately. The City’s cost will be approximately $337,000 and more based on population growth beginning in fiscal year 2025.
