Consider motion to approve the issuance of liquor license(s) and/or beer / wine permit(s) in the City of Ankeny. 

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

In accordance with the Iowa Code Section 123.1 and the City of Ankeny Code of Ordinances Chapter 130, "Liquor Licenses and Wine and Beer Permits," the following license(s) have been investigated and reviewed by the Ankeny Police Department, and when necessary, by Planning & Building and/or Fire Department staff, and are presented to the City Council for approval. Copies of license and/or beer applications are available, for your review, in the Office of the City Clerk.

 

1.  Premier Pizza Inc. d/b/a Leaning Tower of Pizza, 512 SW 3rd Street – Special Class C Liquor License (BW) w/Sunday sales (Renewal) – Effective Date:   October 15, 2019.

2. BackSpin, LLC d/b/a BackSpin Indoor Golf & Bar, 106 SW State St. - Class C Liquor License (LC) w/Sunday sales (Renewal) - Effective Date: October 15, 2019.

3. Briarwood Membership d/b/a Briarwood Golf Club, 3405 NE Trilein Drive - Class C Liquor License (LC) w/Sunday sales (Renewal) - Effective Date: October 17, 2019.

4. Trailhead Ventures, LLC d/b/a The Pig n Pedal, 710 SW 3rd St. - Class C Liquor License (LC) w/Outdoor service, Sunday sales (NEW) - Effective Date: October 15, 2019.

5. Hy-Vee, Inc. d/b/a Hy-Vee Tasting Room, 2510 SW State St., will be catering an event at the FFA building located at 1055 SW Prairie Trail Parkway on October 14, 2019 in which alcohol will be served. This will require a temporary transfer of the Class C Liquor License from 2510 SW State St. to the FFA building, 1055 SW Prairie Trail Parkway. No selling or serving of alcoholic beverages will be allowed at the original licensed location during the period of the transfer. City staff has reviewed the request and recommends allowing the temporary transfer of liquor license.

FISCAL IMPACT: Yes

The City of Ankeny will receive a portion of each application fee in accordance with Iowa Code Section 123.143.
