The general construction contract for the Ankeny Kirkendall Public Library elected to purchase certain furniture, fixtures and equipment for the project separate from the contract.
A Request for Proposal (RFP) was issued by OPN Architects and Design Engineers for the purchase of the audio visual systems for the Ankeny Kirkendall Public Library and City Council Chambers. The proposals were distributed to 4 vendors with 2 vendors submitting bids. The low bid of $284,284 was submitted by Conference Technologies, Inc. of Maryland Heights, MO.
In general, the audio visual systems package includes an electronic voting system, displays (projectors, televisions and screens), mounting hardware, audio equipment (speakers, amplifiers and microphones), equipment racks, cabling/connectors and control systems, along with installation and training. The electronic voting system is considered a bid alternate and will be evaluated prior to an implementation decision. |
