A Request for Proposal (RFP) was prepared to move the Ankeny Kirkendall Public Library from the current facility located at 1210 NW Prairie Drive to the new facility located at 1250 SW District Drive.
The project specifications include moving the following:
- Library collection: approximately 110,000 items or 6,200 linear feet, including books, A/V (CD's and DVD's) and periodicals.
- Staff workrooms and offices: library staff will be responsible for packing/unpacking their personal belongings. Staff will also be responsible for emptying and refilling filing cabinets.
- Contractor will be responsible for unplugging, packing and moving all computers and related IT equipment (computers, keyboards, computer mice, speakers, telephones, etc.). IT staff will unpack and re-install all computers and related IT equipment once delivered to the new facility.
- Copiers: move 2 copiers to the new facility.
- Contractor will move boxes, miscellaneous office supplies and equipment and personal items that are labeled with a destination room.
Proposals were mailed to 7 vendors with 4 vendors submitting bids. The low bid of $12,641 was submitted by Library Furniture International of Northbrook, IL.
The moving date is scheduled for Monday, December 2, 2019 (subject to change) and Library Furniture International, Inc. estimates the project will take 5 business days to complete. |
