SUBJECT:
Consider motion to authorize a temporary adjustment to the FY20 Authorized Staffing Plan to allow for one additional FTE in the Fire Department.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The Fire Department has a member who is going through a disability retirement process and is currently working light duty. The member is required to be paid until the disability retirement is final. The City Manager is requesting the temporary authority to fill the permanent Firefighter/Paramedic position until the MFPRSI determination process is completed and the member retires. The estimated time frame is three months.
FISCAL IMPACT:

Salary and benefits to hire one additional Firefighter/Paramedic for the estimated time frame until the disability retirement is final.
CITY MANAGER'S RECOMMENDATIONS:
Authorize the temporary adjustment to the FY20 Authorized Staffing Plan to allow for one additional FTE in the Fire Department.
