The City Council approved the 2019-2023 Capital Improvement Program on January 21, 2019. The Annual Sanitary Sewer Replacement, Water Main Replacement, and PCC Street Patching Programs within the 2019-2023 Capital Improvement Program include the NW Northlawn Area Utility Improvements project with survey and design scheduled for Calendar Years 2019 and 2020 and construction scheduled in phases for Calendar Years 2021 through 2024. The new sanitary sewers constructed with the NW Northlawn Area Utility Improvements project will be connected to the existing sanitary sewer on the north side of West 1st Street by constructing a new sanitary sewer from the west side of the High Trestle Trail to an existing sanitary sewer utility access near Fire Station No. 1.
The proposed NW Northlawn Area Sanitary Sewer Improvements project will construct this new sanitary sewer on the north side of West 1st Street in Calendar Year 2020 in order to have the work completed prior to the West 1st Street Widening and Improvements – Phase 1 project, which is scheduled for construction in Calendar Years 2021 and 2022, and avoid conflicting construction and staging issues. The proposed NW Northlawn Area Sanitary Sewer Improvements project, which is estimated to cost approximately $250,000, was not included in the approved 2019-2023 Capital Improvements Program.
It is recommended that the proposed revision to add the proposed NW Northlawn Area Sanitary Sewer Improvements project to the sanitary sewer projects scheduled for completion in Calendar Year 2020 within the 2019-2023 Capital Improvements Program be authorized at this time, so the project can be let for bids in December of 2019. |
