The action before the Council is the adoption of a resolution regarding the NE 18th Street & NE Trilein Drive Traffic Signal project which involves ordering construction, setting a public hearing date on the Contract Documents (plans, specifications, form of contract), and estimated total cost, and setting a date for the filing of bids on the project.
The NE 18th Street & NE Trilein Drive Traffic Signal project includes construction of a new traffic signal, relocation of a school zone flashing beacon, approximately 6,000 feet fiber optic cable installation, 240 SY of PCC pavement patching and 220 SY of sidewalk paving. Other associated improvements include traffic control, erosion control, pavement markings, surface restoration, and miscellaneous associated work necessary to complete the project. The City will furnish the signal controller, cabinet and the combination traffic signal/ lighting poles and mast arms, for contractor installation.
The project is being presented for bidding at this time. Pending project approval and award, the contractor will be required to start the project no earlier than June 1, 2020, and no later than June 8, 2020. The contractor will have 40 working days to fully complete the project. Council approval at this time will set the following schedule for the proceedings:
1. Set Date of Bid Opening and Public Hearing: November 18, 2019
2. Post Notice to Bidders and Notice of Public Hearing: November 22, 2019
3. Publish Notice to Bidders and Notice of Public of Hearing: November 29, 2019
4. Bid Opening (10:30 A.M., City Hall): December 10, 2019
5. Public Hearing and Award Contract: December 16, 2019
