The proposed Ordinance allows a secondary water meter for all properties, including residential. The previous Ordinance allowed a separate irrigation meter for commercial, industrial and multiple family dwellings only. It also requires that for all new residential construction, the builder install all of the necessary piping and fittings for the proper setting of both the domestic water meter as well as the secondary water meter as shown in the Ankeny Supplemental Specification.
Ordinance 1988 is necessary to implement Ordinance 1989, transitioning sewer use charges from average billing to actual billing for residential customers. |
