With the pending completion of the new Ankeny Kirkendall Public Library, the next phase of the city's overall facilities plan can commence: The remodeling of the existing Kirkendall library into the new Public Services Building. The interior of the building shall be demolished and rebuilt to accommodate our four public service departments. The construction work includes all civil, landscape, architectural, mechanical, electrical and technology systems. The exterior of the building shall be maintained except for the front façade, which shall be reconstructed. A new parking lot will be constructed along with a new turn lane on NW Prairie Ridge Drive. A new geothermal HVAC system and emergency generator will be included.
