The action before the Council is the adoption of a resolution regarding the NW Northlawn Area Sanitary Sewer Improvements project which involves ordering construction, setting a public hearing date on the Contract Documents (plans, specifications, form of contract) and estimated total cost and setting a date for the filing of bids on the project.
The NW Northlawn Area Sanitary Sewer Improvements project includes construction of approximately 315 LF of 8-inch trenchless sanitary sewer, 315 LF of trenchless 16-inch steel casing pipe, 30 LF of 8-inch trenched sanitary sewer, precast sanitary sewer manhole, connection to existing precast sanitary manhole, 112 SY of 7-inch PCC driveway removal and replacement, traffic control, erosion control, and miscellaneous associated work necessary to complete the project.
The project is being presented for bidding at this time. Pending project approval and award, the Contractor shall commence construction no earlier than March 16, 2020 and no later than April 13, 2020. The Contractor shall substantially complete the project within twenty-five (25) working days. Substantially complete shall be defined as all utility, grading, and pavement construction completed, with the driveways and sidewalks fully open to traffic. The Contractor shall fully complete the project within five (5) working days after substantial completion.
Council approval at this time will set the following schedule for the proceedings:
1. Set Date of Bid Opening and Public Hearing: November 18, 2019
2. Post Notice to Bidders and Notice of Public Hearing: November 22, 2019
3. Publish Notice to Bidders and Notice of Public of Hearing: November 29, 2019
4. Bid Opening (10:30 A.M., City Hall): December 10, 2019
5. Public Hearing and Award Contract: December 16, 2019
