The action before the Council is the adoption of a resolution regarding the Irvinedale Drive Transmission Main - Phase 2 project which involves ordering construction, setting a public hearing date on the Contract Documents (plans, specifications, form of contract), and estimated total cost, and setting a date for the filing of bids on the project.
The Irvinedale Drive Transmission Main - Phase 2 project includes the installation of a 24 inch diameter transmission main from the SW Irvinedale Drive Water Tower to approximately 600 feet north of the intersection of NW Irvinedale Drive and W. 1st Street, along the west side of Irvinedale Drive. This project includes approximately 7,900 lineal feet of 24 inch diameter transmission main constructed with both trenchless and trenched methods and also includes related work such as water main connections, valves, hydrants, erosion control, surface restoration, and other miscellaneous associated work.
The project is being presented for bidding at this time. Pending project approval and award, the contractor will be required to start the project no later than April 13, 2020. The contractor will have 100 working days to fully complete the project. Council approval at this time will set the following schedule for the proceedings:
1. Set Date of Bid Opening and Public Hearing: November 18, 2019
2. Post Notice to Bidders and Notice of Public Hearing: November 22, 2019
3. Publish Notice to Bidders and Notice of Public of Hearing: November 29, 2019
4. Bid Opening (10:30 A.M., City Hall): December 10, 2019
5. Public Hearing and Award Contract: December 16, 2019
