The actions before the council are the acceptance of the Certificate of Completion, passage of a Resolution accepting the public improvements, and approval of the final and retainage payment to J. Peddiecord, Inc. on the Deer Creek Trunk Sewer Extension - Clearing & Grubbing Project.

The Deer Creek Trunk Sewer Extension - Clearing & Grubbing Project is now complete including all final punch-list items.  A series of actions are needed in order to close out this construction project:

1. Engineer's Certificate of Completion:  The attached Certificate of Completion from the project engineer states that the work performed was in substantial conformance with the plans and specifications and that the final contract amount is $68,400.00.

2. Resolution accepting the public improvements:  This resolution approves and adopts the engineer's Certificate of Completion on the Deer Creek Trunk Sewer Extension - Clearing & Grubbing Project and establishes the final contract amount to be $68,400.00.

3. Final Payment:  J. Peddiecord, Inc. = $0.00

    Retainage Payment:  J. Peddiecord, Inc. = $3,420.00

It is recommended that the retainage payment on the project be approved for payment 31 days from the date of acceptance of the project, in accordance with the terms of the contract.

It is recommended that the council take the following actions:

1. Accept the Certificate of Completion from the project engineer for the Deer Creek Trunk Sewer Extension - Clearing & Grubbing Project;

2. Adopt the Resolution accepting the Deer Creek Trunk Sewer Extension - Clearing & Grubbing Project with J. Peddiecord, Inc. in the final contract amount of $68,400.00; and 

3. Authorize final payment to J. Peddiecord, Inc. in the amount of $0.00 and release of retainage payment in the amount of $3,420.00 in accordance with the terms of the contract.

February 4, 2019: Council held a public hearing; adopted plans, specifications, form of contract, and estimate of cost; awarded construction; and approved construction contract and bonds.
