The action before the City Council is the approval of a Professional Services Agreement with Nilles Associates, Inc., for the design and bidding phase services needed for the West Outfall Basin Sanitary Sewer Improvements project.
The scope of the project includes constructing a new 24" diameter sanitary sewer to provide some relief in existing downstream system and to reduce concerns of sewage backups within the West Outfall Basin.
The design for the project needs to be undertaken at this time so that the project schedule can be maintained. The Municipal Utilities Department proposes to use Nilles Associates, Inc., to complete the necessary design and bidding phase services for the project, because they previously completed the design services for other public and private projects within this area of Prairie Trail. The scope of the engineering services and corresponding fees for the services are shown in the attached Professional Services Agreement. The total fee for the engineering services is $102,500.00.
